Meet Dr. Stan Stubbs
Dr. Stan Stubbs has been dedicated to helping patients restore their health and improve their quality of life for more than 30 years. A 1995 graduate of Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia, he has built his career on providing personalized, evidence-informed chiropractic care that addresses the root cause of pain—not just the symptoms.
After earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Dr. Stubbs opened Helena Family Chiropractic, where he served the community for 10 years. He later accepted the opportunity to establish the first chiropractic clinic within a multidisciplinary spine care center in Alabaster, Alabama, where he practiced for another decade. As his practice continued to grow, he relocated to Pelham, where Shelby Family Chiropractic proudly serves patients from throughout Shelby County and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Stubbs is passionate about staying at the forefront of chiropractic care. Through ongoing education and advanced training, he incorporates the latest research, treatment techniques, and technology to provide effective care for acute injuries, chronic pain, and degenerative conditions.
His philosophy is simple:
“Where we hurt is not always where the problem is. The body often compensates for movement dysfunction or stress occurring elsewhere.”
Rather than focusing only on where pain is felt, Dr. Stubbs performs a comprehensive evaluation to identify the underlying cause. Each examination includes a detailed health history, orthopedic and neurological assessments, movement analysis, and diagnostic imaging when necessary. This thorough approach allows him to develop customized treatment plans that fit each patient’s unique condition, lifestyle, work demands, and recreational activities.
In addition to chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Stubbs is certified in several rehabilitation and soft tissue treatment techniques, including Graston® Technique soft tissue mobilization. He also provides patients with individualized home exercise and stretching programs to promote healing, improve mobility, and help prevent future injuries.
Throughout his career, Dr. Stubbs has been recognized by both patients and colleagues for his leadership and dedication to the chiropractic profession. He is a past President of the Alabama State Chiropractic Association and the Jefferson County Chiropractic Society. His peers have honored him with both the Young Chiropractor of the Year and Chiropractor of the Year awards, along with numerous additional recognitions for his service and professional contributions.
Dr. Stubbs served for 17 years on the Board of Directors of the Alabama State Chiropractic Association, including several committee leadership roles. He remains an active member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Laser Therapy Institute, continuing his commitment to advancing patient care through education, innovation, and professional excellence.
